I am thankful. I am thankful for nights that turned into mornings. I am thankful for friends that turned into family. I am thankful for dreams that turned into reality.
I am overwhelmingly and abundantly thankful.
A weekly check-in with a close friend this morning really shifted my perspective on things. If I’ve never said it before, I love those kinds of conversations — the ones where you can pick up where you last left, open your heart and let your mind just release everything that’s been caged. I believe those are the conversations that spark the most growth; self-reflection and evaluation with the aid of someone you trust.
"Details are the difference between mediocrity and excellence. Those who are able to see, and willing to pay the price for it, are the ones who are poised to achieve it. Practice doesn’t make perfect… perfect practice makes perfect."
"The idea is to write it so that people can hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart." — dr. maya angelou
I’m often quoted as telling people to use their words and perhaps I should take a page from my own book of advice. It’s been a moment (okay, a while) since I’ve put my words to this blog… so, here goes.
The last few
weeks months have been a whirlwind for me. There have been familiar faces intermixed with new ones, a few travels, exciting projects, and an abundance of learning experiences. I find myself finding value in the simplest of experiences – whether it be picking up an unfinished conversation or learning of a long-standing (though new to me) restaurant on a very familiar street.
